Pouya is an attorney in Clark & Trevithick’s Corporate Law Group and Real Estate Law Group.
Pouya has over a decade of extensive legal experience in all stages of the business life cycle (from napkin-sketched idea to champagne-popping exits), with all types of transactions, and in all types of industries, giving clients expertise and additional bandwidth for their current businesses and for expansion into new business lines and units.
Pouya’s extensive legal experience is complemented by his entrepreneurial background, which includes creating an automotive company at the age of 19 while pursuing his undergraduate degree; followed by co-founding a fintech startup company in Silicon Valley; and co-founding a real estate investment trust. His substantial and diverse business and real estate experiences give clients knowhow and insight grounded in real-world experience; deep and broad understanding of complex business, technology, and real estate issues; sound business judgment; strategic thinking; business pragmatism; and creative problem solving. His interdisciplinary knowledge gives clients a valuable competitive edge—the ability to pull together disparate bits of information and “connect the dots,” revealing opportunities and identifying pitfalls too subtle or complex for an attorney without a broad perspective, or a team of attorneys with blind spots and gaps in between knowledge siloes, to spot. And since he has stood in the shoes of a business or real property owner or manager, he fully understands and appreciates the client’s perspective and examines contractual terms and conditions not merely in abstract or theory, but in context of actually having to perform the contractual obligations.
In his spare time, Pouya enjoys spending time with his family and friends; eating delicious food; traveling; watching movies, TV shows, and standup comedy; watching sports (e.g., football, basketball, boxing, hockey, etc.); racing cars at the racetrack; learning random talents and skills; and being involved with the community through his 501(c)(3) public charitable organization, which he formed for the nonprofit purpose of relieving hunger and suffering of individuals with disabilities, the elderly, the poor, the distressed, and the underprivileged.
